PSYCHOTHERAPIST
CHRISTINE MILROD, MA, MFT Clinical Psychology, specializes in gender identity
issues, transgender theory and human sexuality. Formerly associated with the
Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center and the Los Angeles Gender Center, she
has published and lectured on transgender etiology, treatment ethics and the
origins of sexual orientation. She is a member of the California Association
of Marriage and Family Therapists, the Lesbian and Gay Psychotherapy
Association, the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality and the Harry
Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association. Christine has an avid

JEFFREY GANDIN, M.D., M.S., received his Master's of Science degree in
physiological psychology from California State University at Hayward. He
completed medical school at Sackler School of Medicine in Israel and a
residency and fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the UCLA
Neuropsychiatric Institute in 2001. In addition to a clinical interest in
neuropsychiatry, Dr Gandin specializes in sex/love addiction, gender
identity issues, and alternative medicine. He is a member of the American
Psychiatric Association, the Southern California Psychiatric Society, the
American Neuropsychiatric Association, the American Association of Geriatric
Psychiatry, and the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria

CONSULTING PHYSICIAN
RICHARD HOROWITZ, MD, F.A.C.P., is board certified in internal medicine and
has been a clinical faculty member of the Department of Medicine at
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles since 1991. Dr. Horowitz received
his medical degree from Université François Rabelais in Tours, France in
1983. He completed a fellowship in reproductive immunology at Institut Louis
Pasteur in Paris and was Chief Medical Resident of internal medicine at New
York's Mount Sinai City Hospital until 1986. He has been the Chairman and
member of Executive Committees at several Los Angeles hospitals, in addition
to his academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of. Medicine at UCLA
Center for Health Sciences, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Wadsworth
Veterans Administration Medical Center. A private practitioner and
specialist in the area of hormonal reassignment, Dr. Horowitz is a member of
the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association, the American

CONSULTING PLASTIC SURGEON
GARY J. ALTER, MD., is one of only three physicians in the United States who is an ABMS board certified diplomate of both urology and plastic surgery. He is in the private practice of plastic and reconstructive surgery with a subspecialty in genital reconstruction, facial feminization surgery, chest contouring, and a full range of SRS surgeries for MTF and FTM. Dr. Alter obtained his MD degree from UCLA in 1973 and finished his urology training in 1979 at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After practicing urology for ten years, he entered a plastic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He completed this residency in June of 1992 and took a fellowship in genital plastic reconstructive surgery at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Alter is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at UCLA. He is a member of the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association, the American Urological Association, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons.
